As a veteran player who's been grinding Zenless Zone Zero since launch, I've seen the meta shift more times than I can count. With the 2.6 update now settling in, it's time to break down which agents are truly worth your polychrome and materials in 2026. This tier list is based on their current performance, team flexibility, and how they hold up in the hardest content like the new Infinite Abyss floors and Shiyu Defense rotations.

Let's get straight to the absolute best units you should be pulling for.

🌟 God-Tier – The Meta-Defining Powerhouses

Miyabi remains the undisputed queen of burst damage. Her Frost attribute lets her trigger Freeze and Shatter while also enabling Disorder in mixed-element teams. The catch? You'll need high investment in crit rate and anomaly proficiency to make her truly shine. But if you've got the resources, she'll outpace every other DPS by a landslide.

Astra Yao completely reshaped the support role as the game's first dedicated healer. Her Idyllic Cadenza state lets her buff the entire team while staying invulnerable off-field. Pair her with duo carries like Miyabi & Yanagi or Jane & Burnice, and you'll breeze through content that used to require perfect dodges. She's the kind of unit that makes every team better.

Trigger is the off-field Stun unit that changed how I think about team building. Unlike traditional Stun agents who hog field time, Trigger just needs four charged shots to max her gauge and then attacks from the shadows while your main DPS does the work. She's a staple in any Aftershock team and her value only grows as more Aftershock agents get added.

Ye Shunguang is the newest Void Hunter and she's an absolute monster. Her Honed Edge attribute and Qingming Sword Force resource might look complex, but once you hit the Enlightened Mind state, you unleash 16 seconds of invulnerable, high-damage combos. She synergizes incredibly well with Dialyn and Zhao, and her Ether Veil makes even non-stun windows deadly.

Yixuan introduced Rupture and Auric Ink, making her damage ignore defense entirely. She scales off HP, has two ultimates, and can even heal the team. The downside? She needs very specific teammates like Pan Yinhu and Ju Fufu, and she's energy-independent so some buffs won't affect her. But when built right, she's nearly unstoppable.

🔥 S-Tier – Extremely Strong and Versatile

Yuzuha has become my go-to buffer for Anomaly teams. Her Tanuki Wish buffs attack, anomaly damage, and buildup rate, and she can off-field attack matching your active character's element. She's easy to slot in and requires minimal field time, making her almost as universal as Astra.

Vivian is the Ether Anomaly agent that doubles as both sub-DPS and support. Her Featherbloom attacks scale with the anomaly proficiency of whoever applied the anomaly—so pair her with well-built Miyabi or Jane, and watch the numbers explode. Managing her Guard Feathers takes practice, but it's worth it.

Evelyn remains my favorite high-skill attacker. Storing up Burning Tethers for a devastating chain attack sequence feels incredibly satisfying. She wants crit rate above 80% and loves Astra Yao and Lighter as partners. She's not F2P-friendly, but her damage ceiling is insane.

And I can't forget Lighter, the Fire/Ice Stun buffer who extends stun duration—a game-changer in timed fights. If your roster leans into those elements, he's a must-pull.

💠 A-Tier – Solid Choices That Get the Job Done

There are plenty of reliable agents that aren't quite god-tier but still excel. Caesar brings shields, attack buffs, and parries that make her a flexible tank/support. Jane Doe is still lethal with her Assault crits, though newer Anomaly units have slightly pushed her out of the spotlight. Soldier 0 Anby (SAnby) provides consistent Aftershock damage and is surprisingly F2P-friendly with Nicole and Lucy as teammates.

Burnice continues to be the best off-field anomaly builder for teams that want to trigger Disorder rapidly. And Lycaon is still the most straightforward Stun unit—just hold attack, charge, and watch the daze gauge fill up.

⚠️ B-Tier and Below – Niche or Outclassed

These agents can clear content but often require specific team setups or heavy investment. Grace was a fan favorite but has fallen off due to the sheer number of strong Electric units. Koleda is a fine Fire Stun tank but can't compete with Trigger or Lighter. Billy and Corin serve as decent early-game options but lack the damage scaling for endgame.

The recent addition of Banyue introduced a fascinating high-technical playstyle, but his on-field demands and limited synergy hold him back unless you're a combo master.

In the end, 2026's meta favors off-field support, high burst windows, and units that can trigger multiple anomalies. If you're planning your pulls, focus on the god-tier agents I mentioned—they'll carry you through anything HoYoverse throws at us next.
