Ever wondered what it's like to be a Public Security officer in New Eridu? Well, back in 2024, Zenless Zone Zero gave us a taste of that life with the 'Public Security' event. And let me tell you, it was a rollercoaster of paperwork, weird requests, and Bangboo shenanigans. As a law-abiding (mostly) citizen of Ridu, I jumped at the chance. Here's my hilarious journey.

The event ran from August 30 to September 9, 2024, and required Inter-Knot Lv. 36+ and completion of the 'Undercover R&B' special episode. If you missed it, don't sweat—here's a recap of the chaos. 🚔

Event Overview: Five Activities, One Busy Officer

During the event, you visit Public Security and experience the work from Amy's perspective. Complete event commissions to earn rewards like Namecard [You Sure Are Awesome, Purr~], Polychromes, Boopons, and more. The event includes five activities: Citizen Card Application, Event Venue Rental, Hollow Entry Permit, Public Security Complaints, and General Affairs. Each activity unlocks after waiting a specified time. So, basically, you're a glorified paper-pusher with a badge. Fun!

Let's dive into the madness.

1. Citizen Card Application: Where Signatures Matter

This one's all about verifying IDs. Some folks have their ducks in a row, others... not so much.

  • Nicole: Reject. 'Signatures that do not match what's archived are not valid.' Ouch. Nicole, you gotta practice your forgery.

  • Ben: Accept. 'The documents are good!' Ben's the responsible one, as always.

  • Excited Woman: Reject. 'Application passed! Good luck.' Wait, reject? That's confusing. Maybe she's just too excited.

  • Exhausted Investigator: Accept. 'Thanks, I'll get to it now.' Poor guy needs a nap.

  • Old Duyi: Accept. 'I'll switch it for you now.' Nice old man.

  • Serious Bangboo: Reject. 'Please come back once you've got all the documents.' Even the Bangboo is strict.

  • Mio: Reject. 'We require a official authorization form.' Grammar aside, Mio's not playing.

  • Happy Mother: Reject. 'Cat Thirens can, but actual cats can't.' Sorry, kitty, no ID for you. 😿

  • Coach Explorey: Reject. 'That's a safety hazard!' Probably tried to register a rocket launcher.

  • Kylie: Accept. 'Approved! Good luck!' Kylie's a sweetheart.

2. Event Venue Rental: Concerts and Noodles

Booking a venue is no joke. Especially when Anby wants to rent for 200 hours.

  • Anby: Accept. 'Great! Estimated rental time... 200 hours?' Anby, what are you planning? A marathon?

  • Suspicious Man: Reject. 'Under no circumstances should events be held in dangerous locations!' Party pooper.

  • Lycaon: Accept. 'The concert is sure to be a success!' The wolf butler knows his stuff.

  • Confident Lead Singer: Accept. 'Alright... Good luck with the show.' Rock on.

  • Sorrowful Investigator: Reject. 'The venue doesn't conform to regulations.' Bureaucracy strikes again.

  • General Chop: Accept. 'No problem! I support Red Chili Noodles!' Now I'm hungry. 🍜

  • Serious Cook: Reject. 'The application reason and criteria do not match.' No noodles for you.

  • Charming Bangboo: Accept. 'Okay. I'll do it right now.' Bangboo efficiency at its finest.

  • Lost Lady: Reject. 'Turn off the live stream first.' Priorities, lady.

  • Caesar (1): Reject. 'For driver's license inquiries, please consult another window.' Wrong department, buddy.

  • Caesar (2): Accept. 'Alright, that we can do.' See? Right window matters.

3. Hollow Entry Permit: Don't Send Kids Alone

Hollows are dangerous, so permits are a must.

  • Holly: Reject. 'Kids aren't allowed to enter the Hollows alone.' Good call.

  • Polite Gentleman: Accept. 'It's weird, but we have everything we need.' Weird is the norm here.

  • Grace: Accept. 'All the procedures are complete. Good luck with the test.' Grace's got it together.

4. Public Security Complaints: Redirecting Like a Pro

People complain about everything. Your job is to send them to the right department.

  • Anton: Hollow Affairs. 'Contact the Hollow Affairs department immediately.' Anton's on it.

  • Officer Cui: Traffic Department. 'I'll contact the Traffic Department right now.' Vroom vroom.

  • Angry Woman: General Affairs. 'The General Affairs department will handle it.' Pass the buck.

  • Nervous Man: General Affairs. 'Scams... That falls under the purview of the General Affairs department.' Scam victims, unite.

  • Disappointed Man: General Affairs. Same as above. Tough luck.

  • Orchidea: General Affairs. 'The General Affairs department will contact the HIA.' HIA? Sounds important.

  • Rina: General Affairs. 'The General Affairs department will take care of this at once!' Rina's got the magic touch.

  • Rina: Hollow Affairs. 'Contact the Hollow Affairs department immediately.' Wait, Rina again? She's versatile.

5. General Affairs: The Catch-All

This is where all the odd jobs land.

  • Confident Lady: Reject. 'You can't use someone else's photo to apply.' Identity theft is not a joke.

  • Little Lord: Reject. 'You cannot hold events in a dangerous location.' Safety first, kid.

  • Burnice (1): Accept. 'I'll hand them to the Traffic Department right away.' Burnice, the multitasker.

  • Burnice (2): Accept. 'All the documents are here. Application accepted.' Double duty.

  • Obsessed Man: Reject. 'The reason for the application and the qualifications do not meet our requirements.' Obsessed with rejection.

  • Tin Master: Accept. 'All right, your application is accepted.' Tin Master for the win.

  • Hesitant Man: Accept. 'Sure. Do you want to record it?' Recording? Sure, why not.

Final Thoughts

Being a PubSec officer is no walk in the park. It's a mix of customer service, detective work, and herding cats (literally). But hey, the rewards are decent, and the memes are priceless. If you ever get the chance to play this event, do it. Just remember: bring your patience and a sense of humor. And maybe a cat treat for the Happy Mother. 🐾
